Teak wood is not only fame with its durable, hardwood and weatherproof , but also its stunning texture, the wood-lines are rich and hairy, even in its nature appearance.

This distinctive of teak-texture would be embossed by timely ages under the sun ray baked and rain water saturated, river or sea-water erosion. As if the nature works for an art-piece. Performing an artistic engrave on the wood surface. Known as A weathered teak wood piece by Erosion finishing.
One among the sophisticate Rustic range in teak furniture.

A tour to 'the Reclaim-wood, from wreck'y teak-house into Canopy Bed'.
Tired of reading text, below pictures would bring you an impression of the fabulous Teak's textures. (*:give your comment in this blog after see it ! )

SAKAGURU
canopy bed.

The merger of Erosion-Rustic's touch, '
Joglo'-Java ethnic's Archie, Naturalist-local Artisan and Heritage-traditional craftsmanship. Astonishing the bed with the Vocal Posters and Crown.

Reclaimed from recycling Teak of wooden house,

selected and assorted in piece by piece components.
an Optimum workmanship to build an X.O. Bed.
Vintage, Simple, Original, Premium !
It is Indonesian-furniture typical, the Java ethnic-furniture,
the answer of How is Indonesian furniture look like? not only the reproduction of European style?
The bed's design artwork of 4 posters and Canopy are adopted inheritable from Java's Wooden House 'Joglo', which are the main center structure of the house, known as Sokoguru and Tumpangsari. It been simplified without the atrium ceiling for the canopy, performing a bare and simple artline but really an Allure stuff.
This piece is a Minimalist concept yet it is Rich of wood's texture, soft as like the Silky Hair !
A Traditional work piece but adaptable into a Modern

Wooden furniture resources in Java - Indonesia !

courtesy from CJS
back to the pass .....Jepara Furniture historical

Been 20 years, Jepara a town in Central Java
province had started the reproduction furniture. And hence, it been exported into 5 continents of the world !
Started in 1980's by English (UK) company: PT Alis Jaya Chippendale and followed by others as like PT Satin Abadi (Australia-Indonesia), PT Intraco (Indonesia -USA), PT Majawana, etc ..had brought Jepara town become the center of carving wooden furniture for reproduction-antique furniture in Indonesia.

Hence, after 2 decades establishing, the production is not only indoor items it also making outdoor items for garden and beach furniture.
The former wood Mahogany for reproduction is followed by any other domestic wood as like Dagmar, Pines, Mindi, Durian, Acacia, Mangoes and others wood.

Whilst the Teak wood for Indoor, had being used for Garden and beach Items. And it said so that: these garden furniture are the major cause of 'Why the Teak were getting rare and expensive !? "among half of Jepara's craftsmen in Northern area had been involved in making Teak garden furniture.

Carving skill talent in Jepara is a Heritage!
There was a time in 16th century, The last emperor of Majapahit kingdom, Radja Brawijaya XVI had been married with a Princess of Ching Empire(Chinese), after their son was born the Princess was sent to Palembang, a small kingdom in Sumatra island and given to King Ario Damar (Wishnu Whardhana) to be the queen. This son with Brawijaya which been abandoned is named "Ching Bun"or" Jim Bun" after growth was named as Raden Patah(= Fatah). Later he became the Founder of Demak-Bintoro Kingdom, entitle as: Sultan Raden Kalifatullah Panata agama, the first moslem-kingdom in Java. His grand daughter are the famous Princess Kalinyamat the last empress of Demak kingdom. She struggle for her thrown against her Uncle Prince Ario Penangsang. a kind of woman emancipation in that era which is hardly accepted to overrule men(as an Empress).
At this Period of Demak, every new year there were delegation from Ching-Empire for visiting their granddaughter. Among them are the architects and artisans whom was ordered to built the palace.(=Pendhopo, Kraton, Kapraban, Kaputren etc) so many Carved Wooden House the fabulous 'Joghlo' were made, a fully heavy carved teak-house(=Gebhyog) with its remarkable Tumpang Sari a kind of atrium at the ceilling part(= mandala at Tibet Palace). The reliefs carving panels, the screen divider(Selekon), etc. Whereas these collaboration among the Archie, carver(pawukir), artisan(:Mphu), sculptor(=pamathung) and carpenter(=undahgi) had brought Jeparanese to adopt the Wooden Carvings skill, It is a ...Heritage !

Madame R.A. Kartini, the founding mother of reproduction furniture in Jepara!

In Dutch colonial era of 18Th century, Another woman for 'Emancipation' namely Raden Adjeng Kartini, the Mistress of Jepara Regent (=Bhupati), had revitalized the carving heritage by ordering a group of Craftsmen (Undhagi and Pawukir) to make furniture for Her.(= some of the pieces is displayed in the Museum 'R.A. Kartini"-Jepara town). This moment was (:quoted by the author) 'The First Reproduction-antique Furniture(European style) that ever made in Jepara in 18th Century".
The transition of carving works from Ornamental for Joglo-wooden house into furniture and other decorate pieces had entitled this town as 'Kota-Ukir' (=town of wooden carving). After centuries it become a distinctive skill of handicrafts that leads Jepara as a center of repro-antique furniture maker ! The most valuable and essential contribution that been given by those carvers, artisans and craftsmen to this town is their dedication in 'Carvings the wood'. Whom by descendants had emerging the antique reproduction-furniture keep existing and become a remarkable export commodity to world wide.

HAVANA -settee of dining table and chairs .............
It is simple but not empty and bare

A touch of Modern and Simple-stuff at the Units. Yet it is not light and less of art line.
With a semi-contemporary touch, the legs of table are appearing the view of square and
rectangle dimension at side-view, had brought the table's base as the center point.
The dark brown line of the leg's pieces are contrasting it.
At the Top table, the four darker tiles that coming from the leg's top-end had filled it as the accentual, are making it not bare and empty.
These 4 accents also keep the part of Top is still integrated with the base and the chairs surround, otherwise without these small accents, the Top Part and Base legs would be seem as two separate pieces, no conjunction.
This experimental 4 accents on Top table had consistently keep the whole units in repeating the art line of darker part in an integrity.
The domination of Rectangular shape is also presented at this settee: Top table, Seats and the "Imaginary square" window frame visual at the base legs.
The Designer had re-mix 2 elements of dark lines and light rectangle shapes to be as the Center Point, performing a "New Wave design furniture"
